AboutBeth

In 2015, I attended my first course taught by Sonia Sumar, founder and internationally renowned teacher of the Yoga for the Special Child Method.  I have used many of her methods in my physical therapy practice with favorable results.  I continue to learn from her and became a licensed practitioner to teach her method in 2017.  In addition, I have completed my 200-hour yoga teacher training through Schoolhouse Yoga in Pittsburgh, and I am registered with Yoga Alliance.

My professional background includes a degree from the University of Pittsburgh in Physical Therapy and a Masters in Developmental Disabilities.  I have practiced as a  physical therapist for over 30 years, doing so in a variety of settings.  I have in depth knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and motor development as well as years of experience working with families and children with special needs.

With my background as a pediatric physical therapist and in my own yoga practice, I am drawn to the peace and healing aspects of yoga.  I am inspired and amazed by the subtle changes that I see in myself and my students.
